ECOJ offers two accessing options to locate your desired
articles: Browsing and Searching.
Browse function allows you look through journal titles both
by disciplines and alphabetically. Selecting a particular
title will take you to the journal introduction page with
volume, issue and year list. You may also search within this
journal.
Search function provides you both Quick Search and Advanced
Search interfaces. Search results will direct you to article
citations / abstracts and PDF full-texts. Journal Title /
ISSN search function is also available on top of the browse
interface.
The navigation tool appears on top of each page gives you easy access to navigate our site.
ECOJ Logo–takes you back to the Home page of ECOJ site wherever you decide to start over.
Browse–takes you to lists of ECOJ journals by disciplines
and alphabetically.
Search–provides you Quick and Advanced Search options.
Request A Trial–takes to you a free trial request form to submit your information online.
Tutorial–provides online Flash tutorials to help you learn
how to use the database.
Help–provides you assisting tips to use and locate our resources.
About Us–gives company background information.
Contact Us–displays mailing/email/phone & fax information to receive your feedbacks about ECOJ.
Before you get started, please take a tour on how to browse
the ECOJ journals. (View Flash Tutorial)
If you have the citation information of a desired article,
browse function will help you locate the article easily. Journals
are organized both by disciplines and alphabetically. Subject
disciplines include: Agriculture Science, Fundamental Sciences,
Health & Medical Science, Science & Technology, and
Social Sciences. Each discipline gives the total number of
journals included. Selecting a particular title will take
you to the journal introduction page with volume, issue and
year range, most recent first. By selecting an issue from
a particular volume, you will be directed to the table of
contents in that issue, where bibliographic contents and PDF
full-texts are available. You may also search within a particular
journal for desired articles.
A quick search access by journal title or ISSN number is
available on top of the browsing interface.
Follow the steps before you reach the desired articles:
Browsing Journals - > Volumes -> Issues -> Table
of Contents for an Issue -> Viewing Articles
You may click the Browse link in
the Navigation Tool to return to the complete list of titles
at any point you wish to start over.

ECOJ collections are organized by two levels – journals and
articles. For journal search, please use the Journal Title/
ISSN search function on the Browse
interface, which will direct you to a journal display page.
For article search, ECOJ provides you both Quick
Search and Advanced Search
functions to locate articles.
Quick Search enables you to put search queries in the selected
fields from the drop-down box. Searchable fields include:
Full Text, Article Title, Author, Author Affiliation, Journal
Name, Publication Year, Keyword, Abstract.
Advanced Search enables combined Boolean search within the
above fields. You may also limit your search by publication
year and subject disciplines.
After finding your desired articles, you are able to view
basic citation, full citation, abstract, full-text, and references
of the articles. In full citation pages, hyperlinks for Author,
Journal Title and Year/Volume/Issue are also available to
provide you access to related sources.
| •Exporting Citations and Abstracts |

ECOJ citations and abstracts can be selected and exported
to save or print out. You may select desired articles and
choose an exporting option on the right top of the searching
result page. Four options are provided: Basic Citation, Full
Citation with Abstract, Standard Reference, and EndNote File.
You are able to directly print out or save the selected citations
through your browser. To export ECOJ citations to EndNote,
please refer to Reference Linking.
| •Printing and Downloading Articles |

ECOJ articles are scanned in OCR-based PDF format. The entire articles are printable and downloadable by simply clicking the "Print" or "Download" buttons in Adobe Reader, or using "Print" or "Download" function in your browser.

| •Chinese Character Display |

ECOJ contains article citations with Chinese characters.
To display the citation information in original alphabet,
set up the display option of your browser to "Unicode" fonts
if available. Some web browser brands and versions differ
in how they display Unicode encoding.
For Windows users, please follow the steps below to display Chinese characters normally on your screen: (View Flash Tutorial)
- Go to control panel and click on the "Data, Time, Language, and Regional Options"
- Choose "Add other Languages" or "Regional and Language Options"
- Under "Language" tag, click on the "Install flies for East Asian languages", then click "Apply"
- Switch to "Advanced" tag, and choose "Chinese (PRC)"
- Click on the "Apply"

ECOJ has been supported by Bibliographic Management Software
programs such as RefWorks and EndNote, to help you manage
your bibliographic collection easily.
Please take a few minutes to learn how to import reference
data to RefWorks and EndNote from ECOJ before you get started.

Asian and Central European font packs for Adobe Reader (for English version)
"If the author of an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file embeds CJK and Central European (CE) fonts in a PDF document, then any language version of Adobe Reader Software will be able to display the CJK and CE text on any system without additional software. If the author of the PDF document uses CJK or CE fonts but does not embed them in the document, then the correct fonts will need to be installed in order to view the Adobe PDF file on non-native systems."
"Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.x users must download Asian font packs from this page. Adobe Reader 6.0 was the first version of Reader to download the correct font packs on demand, although they are offered on this page as well for users wishing to download them in advance."
